filmywap New Zealand may have won the T20I series against India 2-1, but the 4-1 ODI series loss to Virat Kohli and co. means there are chinks to be ironed out ahead of the 2019 ICC World Cup.

The three-match series against Bangladesh will be the Black Caps’ final series ahead of the quadrennial showpiece event and the 2015 finalists will want to gain some momentum before the tournament begins.

The aim will be the same for Bangladesh, who in recent years have developed into a formidable if at times inconsistent unit in the shorter versions of the game.

Bangladesh will play a tri-series against the Windies and Ireland just before the World Cup but a series win in New Zealand – something they have never achieved before – would give the side an arguably bigger confidence boost.

“We know it’s going to be very difficult, we’ve got to be realistic,” Bangladesh coach Steve Rhodes told reporters ahead of the match.

“But we quite like being underdogs. We can surprise a few people being an underdog and I think New Zealand know they’ve still got to play some very good cricket to beat us.”

Batting Woes

New Zealand’s biggest issue during the India series was the failure of the batting unit – despite possessing plenty of firepower, the biggest issue they faced was batting through the innings.

This was evident in all four games that they lost to India as in each and every one of those matches, they failed to bat through the full 50 overs.

The inconsistent form of skipper Kane Williamson didn’t help matters, but the Black Caps’ ‘all guns blazing’ approach backfired on them, especially against the quality spin bowling of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav.

Bangladesh will miss the services of all-rounder Shakib al Hasan, but their playing XI in the sole warm-up match on Sunday consisted of Mehidy Hasan and Mahmadullah, as well as the 18-year old off-spinner Nayeem Hasan, suggesting they plan on throttling the home batsmen with spin.

However, the visitors aren’t without issues of their own in the batting department. Their top-order is inconsistent and the team are prone to the occasional collapse, both of which were on display in their warm-up game against the New Zealand XI.

The top three of Liton Das, Mominul Haque and Soumya Sarkar recorded scores of 3, 6 and 1 respectively as the visitors lost the match by two wickets.

Yet the bowling department did well and given that New Zealand’s sole win during the India series came when Trent Boult was at his searing best, there is every chance the series may hinge on which bowling unit comes to the part on what day.

And while Bangladesh have momentum on their side – they won a three-match series against Windies at home 2-1 – they know that a home side smarting from a humbling series loss will be dangerous.

“I think they’ll use those bruises to bounce back and we’ve got to be ready for a tough New Zealand turning up,” Rhodes said.

The first ODI is on Wednesday (February 13) at Napier.

The Windies fast bowler Shannon Gabriel has received an official warning for using abusing language in the ongoing third and final Test match against England at St Lucia. The incident happened in the 44th over of the second innings of the English team. Joe Denly and Joe Root were going strong at 138-2 when Gabriel was involved in a heated argument with the England captain.

Meanwhile, England skipper Joe Root who was part of the argument decided not to reveal the details of the incident. Root believes some things should stay on the field and there is no point in bringing them up again.

Gabriel gets away with the warning.

On the other hand, the match referee Jeff Crowe was satiated with the action of the on-field umpires and thus Shannon Gabriel will not face any further action.

“Sometimes people say things on the field they might regret, but they should stay on the field,” said Root, who finished the day with his 16th Test hundred. “He’s a good guy who plays hard cricket and is proud to be in the position he is. The battle was a good contest, he’s had a wonderful series and he should be proud. I don’t want anything said in the middle to ruin what’s been a good Test series for him and his team.”

In fact, in the recording of the incident, Joe Root is seen telling Shannon Gabriel that there is nothing wrong in being gay. On the other hand, the Windies coach Richard Pybus said that he didn’t hear anything. However, the Windies will probe the incident if a formal complaint is made.

“Nothing has been reported to me but if a comment was made we’ll review it & if it was untoward we’ll be addressing it.”

Meanwhile, England has put their noses in front as they currently lead by a gargantuan margin of 448 runs. Root was able to bring his best to the table after the talisman batsman scored his 16th Test hundred. The Windies has already clinched the three-match Test series as they lead by 2-0.

The last few years have been pretty special for Rohit Sharma in his cricketing career and also in his personal lie. He achieved quite a few staggering records in his kitty by playing for Indian National Cricket Team and then he got a loving wife to fill the life in an amazing way. Meanwhile, the new-born baby arrived in his life to make it an extra-special.

Recently, when India was involved in the 4-match Test series against Australia, Rohit Sharma took special leave to fly back home. During the fourth Test match, Rohit Sharma and Ritika Sajdeh welcomed their first child into their life, who was named ”Samaira”

Rohit Sharma flew back after Ritika Sajdeh’ delivery was successful:

Despite Rohit Sharma visiting his wife, he couldn’t there for a long time, as he was tasked to play in the limited overs for India against Australia. Then, he flew to New Zealand to lock horns in 5-ODI and 3-T20I matches. In addition, he was also asked to lead the side as well.

Recently, after the tour, when asked if he was able to take time away from cricket and explore New Zealand, Rohit said he had ventured out to shop a few times for his newborn baby girl. Perhaps, that would sum up the story that how dearly he missed his daughter.

Meanwhile, in the latest post, Rohit Sharma was seen enjoying his time with his baby. A short video displayed Rohit Sharma playing with his daughter, who was in chuckles with all the cuteness surrounded her.

On the work front, Rohit Sharma will join the Indian National Cricket Team for the series against Australia at home. However, there is a good chance that he might be rested as well. Rohit has played enough ODI cricket in the recent past, which would help selectors try a new player in place of the vice-captain.

After the conclusion of series against Australia, Rohit Sharma will lead Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League 2019. Perhaps, the tournament would be the debut for Samaira to make a visit to the cricket stadium.

Colin Munro plundered 72 runs from 40 balls to set New Zealand on course for a four-run win over India in the third Twenty20 cricket international on Sunday and a 2-1 win in the three-match series.

Munro and Tim Seifert, who made 43 from 25 balls, gave New Zealand a lightning start that allowed it to reach 212-4 as it batted first after losing the toss.

India mostly lagged behind the necessary run rate and came to the last over needing 16 runs to win. Tim Southee bowled a tight over and though Dinesh Karthik thrashed the last ball for six, India came up just short at 208-6.

Karthik finished 33 not out and Krunal Pandya 26 not out but India lacked the substantial partnerships that might have lifted it to its winning target.

Vijay Shankar, with 43 from 28 balls, and Rishabh Pant with 28 from 12 looked, along with the last pair, as if they might propel India to victory but the India run chase was poorly organized and fell just short.

“It was pretty disappointing not to go through that finishing lane but I thought we fought pretty well,” India captain Rohit Sharma said. “I thought 210-odd was always going to be a tough chase but I thought we were in the game right until the end.

“But I thought New Zealand bowled pretty well at the end. They kept using that yorker which rewarded them.”

Munro signaled his and New Zealand’s intentions from the outset, hitting the first ball he faced from Bhuvneshwar Kumar for 6. He rushed to 50 from 28 balls with three fours and four sixes and his entire innings contained five fours and five sixes and set the tempo for a strong New Zealand batting performance.

New Zealand was 46-0 after five overs and its first 50 runs came from only 32 balls.

Seifert fell at 80-1 to a dubious stumping decision as M.S. Dhoni completed a slick dismissal from the bowling of Kuldeep Yadava. Munro continued to set the rapid tempo of the innings before falling to Yardav when New Zealand was 135-2.

Further contributions of 27 from 21 balls by captain Kane Williamson, 30 from 16 balls from Colin de Grandhomme, 19 from Daryl Mitchell — son of England assistant rugby coach John Mitchell — and 14 from seven balls by Ross Taylor swelled the New Zealand total and proved decisive in a close finish.

India suffered an early setback when it lost the wicket of Shikhar Dhawan to the bowling of left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner in the first over of its reply.

Captain Sharma set out to play an anchor role and batted until the 14th over. He was prepared to understudy the big hitters who were likely to see India to a match and series victory but their contributions were too sporadic and too short.

Vijay Shankar blasted 43 from 28 balls with five fours and two sixes and Rishabh Pant began what looked like a match-winning innings with three sixes and a four from his first eight deliveries. But he fell to one of the soft dismissals that undid India’s chase for victory.

It stayed in the hunt for a win when it took 14 runs from the penultimate over, bowled by Scott Kuggeleijn. But Southee bowled a tight last over and Karthik, who monopolized the strike at the expense of Krunal Pandya, who had taken 26 runs from 13 balls, wasn’t able to clinch a win.

“It was a brilliant series and both teams put on a fantastic display of cricket, especially today,” Williamson said. “What a brilliant game and great advertisement for T20 cricket.

“Credit to India, they’ve been outstanding through this whole series but it was nice to get across the line tonight.”

cricbuzz live score

Fast bowler Pat Cummins won Australian cricket’s highest individual honor on Monday for his performances during a year when the national team’s results were overshadowed by bans for Steve Smith and David Warner following a ball-tampering scandal.

Cummins won the Allan Border medal for Australia’s leading men’s cricketer with 156 votes, six ahead of off-spinner Nathan Lyon, who was voted test cricket player of the year.

Alyssa Healy won the Belinda Clark award for the leading Australian women’s cricketer of the year.

Cummins took 44 wickets at an average of 25.61 across all formats during the 12-month voting period, which did not include his man-of-the-series performance in the recent win over Sri Lanka.

The 25-year-old Cummins, who took seven wickets on his test debut as a teenager against South Africa in 2011 but didn’t play another test match until 2017, has moved to No. 2 in the international rankings for bowlers.

He struggled with back injuries after making his international debut but since returning against India in 2017 has been a regular in the Australian test lineup. He has 94 wickets in 20 test matches as well as averaging 20.30 with the bat.

“I’ve obviously had quite a few tough years with injury. I always thought test cricket was the dream but wasn’t sure I’d get up there and forge a consistent career,” Cummins said. “I feel like every time I bowl, my rhythm just feels a little bit better.”

Cummins won maximum votes in the Cape Town test last March, which was overshadowed by the ball-tampering scandal, and in the subsequent test in Johannesburg where South Africa clinched the series with an emphatic win.

Smith and Warner were captain and vice-captain when they were suspended for 12 months for their parts in the plot to make one side of the ball rough so it would favor Australia’s bowlers. Cameron Bancroft, who was banned for nine months for using sandpaper to try to change the condition of the ball, has returned to competitive cricket but was not at the awards ceremony.

Smith and Warner, both two-time winners of the Allan Border medal, also did not attend.

Healy won the top women’s award with the one-day international and Twenty20 honors. She was voted player of the tournament when Australia won the women’s Twenty20 World Cup in the Caribbean last year.
