On ODI comeback, Hardik Pandya underlines bowling value
Pandya, having been by the BCCI last week, and claimed 2/45 in ten overs while taking an acrobatic catch to dismiss Kane Williamson. ().
In the 17th over of New Zealand's innings at Bay Oval, Pandya dived to his left from midwicket and plucked a very good catch to cut off Williamson on 28 when the Blackcaps captain flicked Yuzvendra Chahal in the air. Pandya bowled very tidily in his first spell of 5-0-9-0, came back to concede 15 runs in two overs during the middle phase of the innings, and then in his final spell to claim Henry Nicholls and Mitchell Santner to finish with 2/45 from ten overs.
In the 4oth over, Pandya used a clever slower bounce to get Nicholls caught down the leg side. In the 43r over, Santner chased a short and wide ball and edged to Dinesh Karthik.
