Smith was recently ruled out from the tournament following an elbow injury. He has undergone a surgery which would keep him away from the field for more than six weeks.

Besides Smith, several notable players were listed in the PSL replacement draft.
Franchise Lahore Qalandar roped in South Africa’s Hardus Viljoen and David Wiese as AB de Villiers, Carlos Brathwaite and Corey Anderson will be unavailable throughout the tournament.
On the other hand, Afghanistan quick Waqar Salamkheil pulled out of the league following his prior commitments with the national side. Hence, Peshawar Zalmi have brought in West Indies batsman Andre Fletcher as his replacement.
While England’s Joe Denly has been replaced by another Englishman, James Vince in Multan Sultans, West Indies batter Dwayne Smith has been picked up as a cover for Dwayne Bravo who will not be able to join Quetta Gladiators before February 27.
The Pakistan Super League is slated to be held from February 14 to March 17 in Pakistan and Dubai.
