Heard about the 'backfie' shot by Imtiaz Ali, Karan Johar, Kartik Aaryan and Dinesh Vijan?
This incident took place at the launch of National Museum of Indian Cinema.
Trust Bollywood to come up with their own version of a trend. This time, they have given a twist to the popular habit of taking a selfie. The inauguration of the National Museum of Indian Cinema was presided by the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi on Saturday. The event was a major success as the who's who of the film industry were present at the launch. It seemed natural that all those who made it to the event made sure to take a selfie with the PM. However, given the large attendance and PM's tight schedule, not everyone got a selfie with him.
So, Imtiaz Ali, Karan Johar, Dinesh Vijan and Kartik Aaryan took a backfie - where the PM can be seen with his back turned to them. Imtiaz captioned the picture as : "Losers' backfie with the honorable PM." Here, Backfie clearly refers to situations when clicking a picture with someone important is not possible.
Interestingly, a delegation of young actors and filmmakers from Bollywood met the PM for a discussion related to the film industry in Delhi. Following the successful meeting, they clicked a selfie with him, which instantly went viral.
